I must confess that at 8 meters drop, we are working close to the limit of the “Twister” style design. Why?…Well as the crystal chains get longer, they get heavier. And eventually the weight of the glass will cause the clips to open up, which is no good at all.
We can work around this by using heavier weight clips, and glass with 10% lead content, which is considerably lighter than 20% and 25% lead crystal. The photos you see below, show the installation sequence that took 2 days.

Preparing the anchor point

Lifting the frame into place

Working on the top cylinder

Top half complete, starting to dress the bottom strands

Close up

Lower half starting to take shape

Finished looking down

Job done!
